Not all of us are naturals when it comes to applying nail polish and some might wonder how do I get the perfectly clean and tidy manicure which we see all over Instagram. Today we have the ultimate guide on how to achieve that neat and tidy look. Of course it takes a bit of practice to get that steady hand but follow these steps and you will definitely see a huge difference in your manicure! We hope you enjoy!
How to Paint Your Nails Like a Pro
There are 5 simple steps to follow when applying nail polish to ensure a clean and beautiful manicure. Make sure to read each step carefully more specific advice and also watch the video above for visual reference.
Step 1: Apply a Base Coat
Start by applying a coat of base coat on all your nails. Make sure they are clean and dry. Do not apply a nail oil or hand cream before applying nail polish. This will make harder for the nail polish to properly adhere onto your nails.
Step 2: Paint Your Nails With Your Chosen Colour
When painting your nails start by placing the brush in the middle of your nail just below your cuticle. Paint a stroke downwards and then continue by painting the sides. Remember to also close the tip with nail polish which will help premature chipping. See video above
Step 3: Paint a Second Coat of Nail Polish
Whilst the nail polish may be opaque after the first coat, the second coat will not only strengthen the colour but will also help your manicure last longer and prevent chipping.
Step 4: Clean the Edges with nail Polish Remover and a Brush
Once you have painted ypur second coat you can clean and smoothen the edges with some nail polish remover and a small brush (see video above). Also, if you got some nail polish on your skin or cuticles, you can now remove whilst the nail polish is not quite dried yet.
Step 5: Finish off With a Top Coat
Once your nail polish has dried, finish off with a coat of top coat. This will help strengthen the manicure. If your nail polish tends to chip easier, add a layer of top coat every 2-3 days to give an extra layer of protection.
We hope this tutorial could help any of you out! Remember that in the end practice makes perfect so even if you don’t get it right the first time – keep practicing and with no time your nails will look like you just came from the salon!
We wish you an amazing day!
