Summer Foot Care Routine

Yes, it’s finally that time of the year where flip flops and sandals have become our daily footwear! This means it’s also time to start pampering our feet so that they look summer glam all summer long. In today’s video Kia is sharing her simple foot care routine which she can easily incorporate into her weekly routine. This easy routine will help keep your feet looking soft and well taken care of especially in these summer months. We hope you enjoy!

In summer our feet tend to be softer and less dry than they would in the winter, but this does not mean they don’t need good care, especially if you want your feet to look pampered all summer long. Here is my simple foot care routine I incorporate weekly and it helps keep m feet looking summer fresh.

Before starting this routine, remove your nail polish from your toe nails if have any on. We highly recommend removing your nail polish from your toes at least once every 2 weeks (even though the nail polish can easily last longer on your toes). Your toe nails also need fresh air ;)

Step 1: Wash your feet. I actually wash my feet properly at least once a day, before I go to sleep. There is nothing more icky for me than going to sleep with unwashed feet. But once a week I will draw myself a little foot bath with some shower gel in it. Whilst I soak my feet in the warm water, I also brush my feet with a nail brush to help properly clean me feet and toes but to also help remove any dead skin cells.

Step 2: Next, I give my feet gentle scrub. For this I used a simple olive oil and sugar mixture as my scrub. This is 100% natural and something you can easily create at home. See the recipe here. Thoroughly massage the scrub on both your feet and then wash it off (warning! Your feet will feel baby butt soft)

Step 3: After I have dried my feet, I will apply a foot cream. You can use any moisturizer really but for the thick skin our feet tend to have, it’s good to use a thick moisturizer which will absorb into the skin easier. We like the foot cream from Apeiron. Thoroughly massage your feet with the foot cream and then wear socks! Socks will stop you from leaving greasy marks all over your apartment + it helps the cream better absorb into your skin.

Step 4: The final step is to apply a nail polish. If you were wearing nail polish before this routine, then we recommend you have a couple of days break from nail polish and allow your toe nails to breathe. Remember to use a base coat because that will help even out the surface of your toe nails and it will be harder for the nail polish to stick onto your nails. P.s. Our toe nails tend to be quite a bit thicker and more uneven which means the nail polish can be hard to completely remove. Don’t worry, with time the nail polish will fade.

That was our simple foot care routine! We hope you got some inspiration and that this video could help you out!

Lots of Love,
Your Kia-Charlotta Team
