Vegan vs. Natural – What’s the Difference?

We hear it all the time: oh, its natural so it’s also vegan or: cool, its vegan so it must be natural. Wrong. In today’s video I shortly explain the differences between these two and why vegan does not make a cosmetic product natural or why natural does not make a product vegan. We hope you enjoy!

Vegan vs. Natural – What’s the Difference?

As you may already know, we create 100% vegan and cruelty-free nail polishes which are also 14 Free. It is our mission to create amazing vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics which is also natural. However, 100% natural nail polish is simply not possible to make which is why created the second-best thing: 14 Free nail polishes meaning our nail polishes do not include 14 of the most toxic ingredients still used in nail polish today. Whilst we strive to be a natural and 100% vegan and cruelty-free company, its does not mean that ALL natural cosmetic products are vegan or that ALL vegan cosmetic products are natural.

Vegan simply means that the product does not contain any animal derived ingredients such as carmine, honey or lanolin. It also means that the product has never been tested on animals. Natural on the other hand means that the cosmetic product only contains ingredients that are safe for us and which are often naturally sourced. This could and often does however include carmine, honey and lanolin as well in which case, if a product does include these ingredients, it is not vegan.

We hope todays video could help you understand what is vegan and what is natural and how they differentiate! Thank you so much for watching!

Have an amazing day!

Lots of Love,
